For most of my user defined lists, I use the edit function to add a description and to select a specific image to display with that list. If I use the “Synchronize account data” function on the Profile screen, I lose those edits. The descriptions disappear, and the associated image reverts to the default. This has happened to me several times. It is a fairly big annoyance, as performing some of those edits, for very large lists, takes a long time. Bringing up the list of images for selection is extremely slow. This does not happen on automatic synchronizations that are done routinely.
Is the forced synchronization supposed to do something different from the automatic ones? Why should these edits be lost under these circumstances?
This problem is more pervasive than I initially thought. The descriptions and selected image are being lost without a manual synchronization. It seems to happen randomly and frequently. The only way to keep the image I want is to keep making the show with that image the one most recently added to that list. This makes the list edit function useless and very frustrating.
I am suspicious that the problem may be related to running the program on more than one android device, which I do. Regardless, it would be really nice to get this fixed. I was able to do those edits and have them stick for a long time before this started. So it is a regression that happened not too long ago.
This issue seems to perhaps have been resolved. There has been no new version of the client app since I last saw the problem, but perhaps something has changed on the back end. I have not seen a failure in several days. Chris, did you change something that may have resolved this? I’m hoping that the problem is really solved. Thanks.
Sorry, I spoke too soon. After not seeing the problem for a while, it has returned. Once more I have lost my image selections, and my descriptions disappeared. This is very frustrating.
I can’t be sure it’s related to syncing, but that’s my best guess. I run the app on multiple devices, and it may have to do with syncing across devices. It seems to happen less frequently now, but it is still happening some. I have put in my descriptions and preferred image selections many times.This has not always happened. It started a few months ago, and has continued. It last happened to me some time last week. It definitely does not happen on every sync, and that may not be the cause. Again, I am just suspicious that it is related to syncing but not sure. I don’t know how many people use the option to set list descriptions and preferred images, but I have always used it. It is a nice option to have. It just needs to stick. Thanks.
